Spindash! (TV series, 2012–present)

Spindash! is an American animated sitcom that has aired on Pun Intended since November 3, 2012. Set within an independent motorsport operation, it follows the team's day-to-day operations across a regional competition season. It is the second animated sitcom produced by the network after Maverick, and the first to use a grounded, realistic setting. Episode titles are drawn from racing and automotive terminology. The show is currently in its fifth season.

Premise

Spindash! is set within a mid-sized independent motorsport operation competing at the regional level — a team that is staffed by people who are genuinely competent in ways that do not always translate into results, operating on equipment that is always slightly too old, inside a sport where the margin between a good result and a bad one is narrow and rarely fair. Episodes are self-contained and structured around individual races and events, though each episode can be followed without prior knowledge of the season.

Production

Spindash! premiered alongside Playing A Practical Joke on November 3, 2012. Its visual identity was developed to read like a network sports brand rather than a conventional animated sitcom title — cobalt blue lettering, a signal-orange exclamation mark, and a horizontal speed line. Derek Kellerman has described it as the production he is most personally invested in from a visual standpoint.

Reception

Spindash! premiered to 8.14 million viewers and has grown across five seasons. Season averages: S1 9.55M, S2 12.07M, S3 14.34M, S4 17.41M, S5 21.74M+.
